Some T bottles from the Trans and Gender Diverse Day of Visibility exhibition @bluemountainsculturalcentre last month.
It was cool to see quite a few people immediately recognise what the bottles were.
These bottles will be coming to another show in Katoomba next monthππ Keep ur eyes peeled if you wanna get your hands on one. Thats right, finally selling these bbys.

@stilllifewithpansy talked about my recent work, Adolescent, on their radio show this week!
I put a link in my bio if you wanna listen ππΌ
Felt a bit weird to hear my words being said out loud. (But also cool and thank you Martin for being so nice). Martin invited me to come talk on the show but if you know me then you know that just the thought of verbalising my thoughts to any kind of audience makes me wanna throw up.
Go listen!!

The end.
But also the beginning?
My weekly ritual has come to an end. For the past 3 months ive been spending time at @penrithregionalgallery. Wandering around the gardens, sitting in the galleries, spotting lizards and cool bugs and saying hi to snails. Ive become more familiar with the site, and its kinda sad for it to be over.
The gallery has had a really big impact on me and im grateful to have been able to spend this time existing in the space.
Im really excited for what is next. Ill have some news to share soon but for now i just wanna say thanks for being here.

Theres only a week left to see the socks before the exhibition is over.
Goodnight

For the past 12 weeks I’ve been at @penrithregionalgallery on Fridays walking around the galleries and gardens in white socks.
This has been part of my artwork, Adolescent. You can find the artist statement on my other posts but basically it came from me thinking about my life- reflecting on where id been, where i am now and where I’m going. (I think about my existence pretty much all the time and tbh its kind of a problem but i guess thats why I’m now making art about it- i think it helps to get it out of my head).
In the past year I’ve been really interested in things that record movement, including foot prints. For this work ive been walking around the gallery, with the site imprinting on me (and my socks).
The process of showing up each week has been really beneficial in keeping my life in motion.
I didnt really make the connection between my own life and the process of dirtying socks until a few weeks before the opening of the exhibition. I was staying over my friend Sky’s house after a bit of a breakdown. I had a strange moment while showering- there was a mirror in front of the shower and as I stood under the water staring at my reflection I realised i looked like myself when i was a small child, or at least thats what i thought i looked like.
Im still that baby.
Anyway reflecting on that moment lead me to this work.
‘Adolescent’, like the word suggests is about the transition from child to adult. Even though I’ve technically been a legal adult for a while now, i for so long had felt stuck. Still a kid. But in recent years I’ve started moving forward with my life. Im starting to grow. But now im trying to play catch up.
The response to this work has been interesting. I dont make art for other people, so the negative comments dont really matter to me. Im just processing my shit in a way that makes sense to me. If that doesn’t resonate then that is very okay.
If you have any questions about this work leave me comment. Im thinking of possibly making a video answering them.
Thanks for listening πππ§¦

Felix Jackson, Adolescent, 2024, dirt on socks
Adolescent documents my personal journey of growing into adulthood and becoming an artist. This work takes the form of a durational performance, resulting in an evolving installation. Over the course of 12 weeks, I’ll walk the grounds of Penrith Regional Gallery, a place that marks the beginning of my artistic career.
Through this movement, white socks collect dirt from the site, its visible imprint slightly altering the installation each week. Each sock corresponds to a year of my life, with the act of walking creating forward momentum.

Ceramics piece from last year. Physical, political (punching bag).
I made this work in response to the anti-trans rallies that were happening in Australia around this time last year. But its a work i keep coming back to as this shit feels never ending. Its seems like every week I hear of another trans person who has passed away at the hands of transphobic violence.
I feel myself starting to disconnect. My head wants to keep me safe.
This piece started as a self portrait, my first attempt at making myself in clay.
I finally got to show it at my tafe exhibition a couple months ago. Thanks to everyone who came to see it.
Ive been considering making more of these heads. I really like the sculpting process. Maybe one day ill feel the need to turn this into a series, but i hope i wont need to.
